We’ve put this workshop together to help cat sitters feel more confident and prepared when caring for diabetic cats. The session is led by Dr Kelly Debaene from Mokum Mobile Vet.

Kelly is a cat-focused veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in general practice and shelter medicine in the US and the Netherlands. Through Mokum Mobile Vet, she provides personalised, compassionate, low-stress care for cats in their own homes across Amsterdam—giving her a unique perspective that closely aligns with in-home cat-sitting.

We cover the essentials: what feline diabetes is, why it matters, and how to recognise symptoms. You’ll learn what your role is as a sitter caring for diabetic cats, how to prepare before a job, and how to safely handle feeding, medication, and monitoring routines. We also go through common situations, how to recognise and respond to emergencies.

The workshop includes practical tips, common mistakes to avoid, a short insulin demo, and time for questions.

The goal is simple: to help you feel calm, capable, and confident caring for diabetic cats, so that more sitters are available for cats with this condition.

Admission: €30 + €0.50 (service fee)

We have a very limited number of seats for this event, and tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else—just contact us in advance so we can update the guest details.
